Last week, a few members of the Cutline Crew attended Apps World North America in San Francisco. If you’re unfamiliar, Apps World is a conference and expo that brings together tech startups and digital gurus from around the world to discuss the future of the app ecosystem.
Pebble’s CEO Eric Migicovsky talking about their newest innovation, Pebble Time.
While we were there to support our awesome client Pebble (wearables were a prime focus of this year’s event!), we had the opportunity to also check out some other interesting talks and panels from the gaming and developer worlds, and wanted to share a few key themes that resonated throughout:
Everyone’s looking for the “secret sauce.” Creating a successful app — whether in users, monetization, etc — is the big question around the block, but everyone has a different recipe.
We’re drowning in data. It’s not just about having data anymore. Instead, the big question is whether you’re solving a problem with all the data you have, and if that solution is valuable to consumers. Great use of data is what leads to a great product.
Providing contextually-relevant information to users is paramount. Whether you’re in the business of data and analytics or security, and are building apps for smartphones or wearables, users want the information that’s most useful to them at that moment — and without having to ask.
Pebble’s Shobeir Shobeiri moderating a panel with The Weather Channel, IHeartMedia, and more.
All and all, Apps World NA was a great event. Hope to see you there next year!
